As I prepared to head into the office for one of those rare visits to fiddle with hardware, it occurred to me that I had not slipped on a pair of blue jeans in over eight months, since Christmas. First was The Medical Ordeal, which precluded wearing stiff fabrics with thick seams (yowch). Then a virus started going around preventing me from going to work after my recovery. I mean, I wear pants, they’re just primarily pants from Prana, specifically their “Sutra” pant which…OMG, they don’t make them anymore?! Good thing I have like four pair of them. The last pair that I retired lasted eight years, so by that math I have a lifetime supply.
Anyway, a pair of those stretchy, yoga-ey Sutra pants, a black or gray wool t-shirt from…hmm, don’t remember, and that’s been my uniform since about Christmas of 2019. Since I might be seen by other people, I broke it up a little today with a cotton t-shirt from a BMW motorcycle dealership in Fairbanks, AK.
One response to “Those Blue, Blue Jeans”
Will we ever get back to normal? What is normal? Forgot.
Forgetting everything these days: how to go anywhere, how to behave on the rare occasion we do go somewhere, how to play the dulcimer.
Well, pretty soon the virus is going to run out of people to infect, then it will be over. And only then. Until then……stay home, keep calm, and carry on.
Congratulations on wearing jeans!
